Who we are
Smittee is a product of Smittee AI LLC ("Smittee", "we", "us"), a Connecticut limited liability company based in Avon, Connecticut. Smittee provides an AI phone receptionist and customer-management service for trades businesses.
This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email us at privacy@smittee.com.
Information we collect
We collect information in three ways:
- Information you give us: your name, email, phone number, business details, and anything you enter while setting up or using Smittee.
- Call and message content: recordings, transcripts, and details of calls and texts Smittee handles on your behalf, including the phone numbers and messages of the people who contact your business.
- Usage information: how you use the product, device and log data, and cookies that keep you signed in and remember preferences such as your language.
How we use information
We use the information to answer and route calls, book jobs, capture leads, send confirmations and notifications, provide support, operate and improve the user-facing features of the service, and meet legal and security obligations. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
SMS and Text Messaging
If a business enables text messaging, Smittee sends and receives SMS on its behalf (for example, appointment confirmations, replies to customer questions, and follow-ups).
When you contact a business that uses Smittee, you may agree to receive these messages about your service request. Consent to receive them is collected directly by the business (for example, verbally during a phone call) and is never a condition of any purchase. The messages are transactional and conversational, such as appointment confirmations and reminders, quotes, scheduling updates, and replies to your inquiry, and are not marketing messages.
Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message at any time to opt out, which ends messages from that number, or reply HELP for help. You can also contact support@smittee.com. Opting out of texts does not stop a transactional phone call you have separately requested.
No mobile information, including phone numbers and SMS opt-in (consent) data, is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and we do not sell or rent this information. We use it only to deliver the messages you requested. Service providers that help deliver the messaging (such as our telephony provider) may use it solely for that purpose and for no other.
How we share information
We share information with service providers who process it on our behalf (such as hosting, telephony, voice/AI processing, and payment processing), with the business tools you choose to connect (such as Jobber or your calendar), and when required by law. These providers are bound to use the information only to provide their service to us.
Google user data
When you connect a Google account, Smittee uses Google APIs to access your Google Calendar for the sole purpose of scheduling: we read your availability so the assistant can offer open times, and we create or update events when an appointment is booked. We request only the access these features require.
We use Google user data only to provide and improve these user-facing scheduling features. We do not use it for advertising or marketing; we do not use it to train or improve any artificial intelligence or machine-learning models; and we do not sell it or transfer it to others except to service providers that operate the scheduling feature for us, when required by law, or as part of a merger or acquisition under comparable protections. Google Calendar data is not accessed by humans except with your permission, where needed for security or to meet a legal obligation, or in aggregated or anonymized form. We retain Google Calendar data only as long as needed to provide these features and do not keep copies beyond what Google's API terms allow. You can disconnect Google at any time from your settings or by emailing privacy@smittee.com, which revokes our access.
Smittee's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Data retention
We keep call recordings and transcripts for the period associated with your plan, and account information for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to delete your information, subject to legal and operational limits.
Your choices and rights
You can access or update your account information, disconnect integrations, opt out of texts as described above, and request deletion of your data by emailing privacy@smittee.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data and to limit access to it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will post the updated version here and revise the date above.
